A Very Happy Birthday
Brennan's birthday went great! I thought I better share some pictures today, because I know you all are dying to see them. These are some pictures from around the house and, of course, of the birthday cake. I also have tons from our train-filled trip to Union Station, but I haven't gone through them all yet. I will post some of them to as soon as I can.
Balloons!
I think he likes them.
Oh no, one has fallen and can't get back up!
Time to boogy.
Mommy and Brennan
Snugglin' with Daddy
Cake!
Eyes wide for the candles!
The fire's all gone!
2!!!!!!!!!
Time to dig in.
...and the sugar buzz begins.
The spoon was taking too long, so here's a different approach.
Cheese!
Showin' off the blue mouth.
Compliments to the chef!
I think we're still all buzzing from the cake and icing, but it was really good. More pictures of the birthday boy to come soon!
Hugs,
Heather

Happy Second Birthday, Little Man!!
It's hard to believe you are already 2! Seems like just yesterday you were brand new, tiny and squishy and sleepy.
And now you are so big, full of energy, and you love dancing and running around and being silly.
We love you Brennan!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

We're Still Here!
I just wanted to let everyone know that I haven't forgotten about the blogs! I've just been busy with projects, which I hope to post about and show pictures of soon, and Brennan has been taking really short naps, which is the time of the day that I blog and work on projects...so you seen which one has been winning out, huh!
Also, my computer and flickr (where I store my photos online) haven't been getting along lately, so I've been avoiding anything photo upload related. I've still been taking lots of photos, and I am still doing my 365 Project on my photography blog, but everything is just a little bit behind.
I promise I will get everything caught up...one day.
Hugs,
Heather

Happy Birthday Shanntel!
The Big 1-8!!! We hope you have a great day! I would post a picture, but my computer and pictures aren't getting along right now. Probably a good thing, because I'm sure I could dig up something really embarassing cute from when you were little.
We love you and miss you!

An Early Warning to the Easter Bunny
Dear Bunny,
Brennan loves building contraptions like this one every chance he gets. So far we've only caught teddy bears, but I think he's practicing for your arrival. You have been warned.

Asian Beef Noodle Bowl
Asian Beef Noodle Bowl
from the Kraft recipes site
Ingredients:
1/2 lb. linguine, uncooked
3 cups broccoli florets
3 carrots, peeled, sliced
2 tsp. oil
1 lb. beef sirloin steak, cut into strips
1/4 cup Kraft Asian Toasted Sesame Dressing
1 Tbsp. teriyaki sauce
Directions:
Cook pasta in large saucepan as directed on package, adding vegetables to the boiling water for the last 2 min. (I didn't cook the veggies like this, Jason likes them more done, so I steamed them in the microwave while I was cooking the meat.)
Meanwhile, heat oil in large nonstick skillet. Add meat; cook until browned on all sides, stirring occasionally. Stir in dressing and teriyaki sauce; cook 2 min. or until sauce is thickened, stirring occasionally.
Drain pasta mixture; place in large serving bowl. Add meat mixture; toss to coat.

A Balmy Day in February
Well, ok, it wasn't balmy, but it was very warm considering the temperatures pretty much stay in the 30s around here. Since the weather was so nice we went outside to play for a couple of hours.
And of course Brennan had to point out all the planes.
Which is several considering where we live.
De Plane, De Plane!
Hopefully the weather will hold for a couple of days, but I'm thinking we'll be back to snowman weather by the weekend.
On a positive note, there are no mosquitoes outside to pester us, and at least we got to see the grass for a couple of days. (Brown and matted as it is.) I almost forgot what it looks like. :)

Big Blank Canvas
Over the weekend, we went thift store shopping. Around us, there isn't a Goodwill store, but there is a place called Savers, and of course, the Deseret Industries. We packed up and headed out Saturday morning to see what treasures we could find. Well, as luck would have it, I found a silver cake stand, a couple of glass hurricanes, a milk glass bowl, some big silver serving spoons and forks for an art project I have in my head, and a couple of white tea saucers. (The boys didn't get left out, Jason found several books, and I found a brand new Melissa and Doug barn yard puzzle for Brennan.) I couldn't wait to get home with my finds.
But my new treasures led to this:
A big blank wall where our hutch and buffet used to live. Now it lives in the kitchen, and the pie safe that was in the kitchen is now in the foyer, and the marble top table that was in the foyer is now homeless (and will probably stay that way. :) Gotta have some change every once in a while.)
The kitchen is shaping up nicely with my new decorating scheme, but my dining room is left looking pretty bleak. But you know me, it won't be for long. I'll be sure to post an update when there is one.
To be continued...

30/365 ~ Treasures
This should be a picture of our finds at the thrift store, but my photo won't load. As soon as I figure out why, I will post it here. :)
Updated: tada, the picture at last! :)
