All That's Left is to CRAM Teddy in the Suitcase
Well, it's official, tomorrow's the big day.
V-A-C-A-T-I-O-N....ahhhh!
The suitcases are packed (and then some).
The mail is on hold.
The house is scrubbed, dusted and vacummed.
All the laundry is done.
The refrigerator is clean.
The dishwasher is running as I type.
I got my email request to check-in for our flight online.
Now just to get through getting up at 3:30 in the morning, getting to the airport, and entertaining a toddler on two different flights with a two hour layover in between.
Oh yeah, and trying to find room for Teddy, the bear that Brennan hasn't slept without EVER. If all else fails, he might just have to be my carry-on item. :)
See you all when we return.
Hugs,
Heather

A Double Rainbow
We saw this rainbow last night when we were in town. It was so pretty! It ended up turning into a full double rainbow before we got home. I'm so glad we were able to see it.

F is for...Friday, Funny Hats, Final Countdown and Football Shoes!
It's been a busy couple of days around here! We've been gearing up and packing for our Indiana vacation, but of course we had to take a break for some fun.
Yesterday, Brennan and I went outside and played in the yard. Here is the first video I took using my new camera.
Here's a picture after a wardrobe change. Brennan loves to wear hats, and I brought the hat basket out for him yesterday. I think he has trouble choosing which one is his favorite. I am definitely going to save this picture to show off during his teenage years!
And here is one of our finds from Target today. They had all kinds of them in the "$" section. I don't know who gets more amusement out of them, me or Brennan. They give me the giggles every time he runs across the living room, so I think that would be me!
Now back to work! I have some more packing to do, and I have to clear all the "non airplane friendly" stuff out of my purse. Actually, since I had to do that anyway, I bought a new purse, so I just have to move the good stuff over. (That's a good way to justify buying a new purse, right?) :)
Have a great weekend!
Hugs,
Heather

A Few Pictures From Idaho
Whew, the lease is finally up on the car! We turned it in to the GM dealer this morning. Not that we didn't love the car, but it will be nice not to have that car payment every month. Over the weekend we took it out for a little drive just for one last hurrah. We had a nice little adventure on some backroads in Idaho.
The winding gravel road
View through the trees
A little waterfall in the stream
Narrow road
Jason and Brennan by the stream
Another mountain view
We really enjoyed our little excursion and have already found a campground so we can go back and enjoy it more. I think we'll wait a little bit though. While we were there, there was still snow piled on the ground and the water was like ice! I don't really like the idea of camping in a snowsuit!

The Spaghetti Bandit
Brennan never forgets anything. It amazes me every day, the things that he remembers, even if it was something that happened months ago. Sometimes this great memory really works against me. In this case, it is severely depleting my spaghetti supply.
A couple of weeks ago, I was straightening up the pantry so it was ready for the next load of groceries. While doing this, I picked up a box of spaghetti from the wrong end and it went all over the floor. Brennan helped me pick up all the noodles and throw them into the trash can. What was the lesson Brennan learned from this mishap? Spaghetti goes in the trash can, of course. So now, every time the pantry door is open, Brennan makes a beeline to snatch a piece of spaghetti to throw away.
Just wait until I tell Jason why there aren't any leftovers for his lunch the next time I make spaghetti.
I think more sealable pasta containers are in our near future.

The Living Planet Aquarium
AKA - Who is this child and what did he do with my sweet boy?
This past Saturday we spent a total of one hour at the Living Planet Aquarium in Salt Lake City. At $9.00 per person, I think they made some extra money off of us. The reason is twofold. One I'm sure you can infer from my AKA comment above. The other was the fact that the aquarium was super small. We went through the whole thing, and wondered where the rest of it was. So we went through the whole thing again. Yes, we went through the whole aquarium twice in one hour.
Normally, even with the small size it would have taken much longer. I like to read all the literature, and actually find all the fish they say are in each tank. On this excursion, Brennan had other ideas. I think his limit was about 6.3 seconds at each display and then off to the next one. If Jason and I did not comply, the shrieking, kicking, and flailing ensued. It was just one of those days, and nothing Jason or I did calmed the wild beast, so out to the car we went. We took our unopened picnic lunch and headed back home. Brennan has definitely started the "terrible twos." At least we got out of the house for awhile, even if the drive took most of the time. We'll try something else this weekend and hope it goes better. If not, start praying for us. We're going to Indiana in a couple weeks by plane. I already feel sorry for the people who booked the same flights as us.
Here are some pictures of our grand adventure.
Cute from a distance, but notice the crazy eyes.
Kissing the fish. He's such a boy.
Checking out the tiny jellyfish.
He looks calm, right? Yep, looks can be decieving. :)
More fishy kisses.
Trying to jump into the pool with the sting rays.
Part of our 2 minutes at the kiddy play area.
I don't think those fish will ever be the same.
